This week, we’d like to celebrate and congratulate Timpanogos Elementary’s Dual Language Immersion Teacher, Sarah Jensen. Sarah Jensen manages students from all walks of life in her Dual Language Immersion classroom. During the Award reception, Sarah split students into small groups sharing some proficient students and some students still learning proficiency, checking in with each group individually to discuss their progress. The self-appraisals (self-evaluations) have been uploaded to the ESP Evaluation Portal. All classified employees are required to complete a self-appraisal by December 1, 2022 and meet with their supervisors to review the self-appraisal and professional goals by December 15, 2022. The self-appraisals will take roughly 30 minutes to complete. Visit the employee website for details and links.

Our next LETRS training is on January 17, 2023. Those in the district cohort doing Unit 3 do not need to do anything to register. If you are a classroom teacher doing unit 7 you will need to sign up. Learn more on the employee website.

Showcase your student's creations this year at the "This is Us" District Art and Film Festival Gala in March. This is a chance to really highlight those special creations you see pass through your classroom this year. We want to see those cute preschool pieces as well as the beautifully crafted high schooler art and everything in between. Learn more about this and the film portion on the employee website.

UVU Roots of Knowledge series of stained glass windows chronicles the human quest for intellectual advancement and progress. The Roots of Knowledge DISCOVER program is designed to engage children and teens in their educational experience, with three challenge levels geared to K-6th, 7-9th, and 10-12th grades. This UVU program is a free six-week summer program which challenges high-achieving incoming 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students who have shown an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Learn more on the employee website.

Few know that each school in our district has its own Social Worker, and even fewer know about the many roles our Social Workers juggle in caring for students and staff. This month, we'd like to sing their praises, show you their day-to-day work lives, and direct you toward some of their services before the holidays hit. The Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra has spent years promoting educational and community outreach within Utah County and across the state of Utah.
