Lunch Accounts Payment

If you are sending in a check to replenish your child's lunch account, please make all checks payable to "School District of the Chathams" or "SDOC" . We can not accept checks made out to cash, Chartwells or Lafayette School.

Valentine's Day

In the coming weeks, you will most likely be receiving a class list from your child's teacher for Valentine's Day. Please remember that food-related items are not allowed to be a part of Valentine's Day Cards. Although students are not required to send Valentine's Day Cards, please remember that if they do prepare cards they must have one for each classmate.

Weather

With the winter snow finally arriving, please have your child wear snow boots/shoes to school whenever possible. Sneakers, shoes and Ugg boots are not allowed on snow-covered areas. The proper foot gear will allow the students to use all of the playground when it is covered in snow. You may even want to consider storing an old pair of jeans or sweatpants in their backpack in the event they get wet while they are playing.

As a reminder, we go outside when the weather is 18 degrees or higher. We do factor in the wind chill temperature and the sunshine when making our decisions.

To Parents/Guardians of incoming 6th grade students 2019-2020 school year

It is a NJ State requirement for all incoming 6th grade students( 2019-20 year) to provide proof of the Tdap and Menactra vaccines. Typically your student will get these vaccines at their 11 year old checkup.

Please plan accordingly when scheduling your child's physical exam, keep in mind the requirement to have the documentation in the Health office by August 16 , 2019.

You will not have access to your student's schedule until the documents are on file in the CMS Health Office.

If your child gets these vaccines while they are at Lafayette School (2018-19) please give the documentation to Sally Kelly RN.
