The Fort Report

From The Principal's Desk
Hello Fort Daniel Families,
February has been so much fun! We would like to thank everyone for coming out to our first Story Time Night literature event. Our teachers enjoyed sharing the many stories and we all enjoyed having our FDES Families on campus! This "books & cookies" event was a huge success!
Students are moving through their 3rd quarter learning goals, and we are quickly approaching our Parent Conferences. Our teachers are looking forward to sharing information about your child's progress, so please be sure to sign up today and attend your conference. Don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions.
Finally, we would like to thank our awesome group of Parent Volunteers who provided coffee and chic-fil-a biscuits for our staff today. We appreciate you and are thankful for your support!
Proud to Be Your Principal,
Dr. Barbara Tucker
Congratulations to Ms. Heather Thorpe! She won $3,500 in Scholastic Books from the Memic Foundation! Our students will benefit greatly from these resources! FDES teachers are the BEST!!
Scenes from Twos'Day (2-22-22)! Our students had fun!
Kindergarten STEM Project: Ms. Rivera's class used recycled materials to create a model of a structure for the playground to give students a shaded area on sunny days. Students learned how the sun affects the Earth. The students tested their models by placing one ice cube in the model, and one outside without shade and compared which one melted faster. Way to go future engineers!
Good luck to our Readers Rally Competition Team who will compete on Saturday, February 26th at Peachtree Ridge High School.
The following students have worked for many hours to read and memorize the characters and events from the 15 books on our reading list for elementary schools.
Congratulations to Aditya, Kaitlyn, Sydney, and Justice for dedicating their time and effort to represent Fort Daniel!
