Some info for you!
- Thursday, August 30 6:45-7:15 PM in classroom, 7:20 PM-7:40 PM in gym, 7:45 PM - 8:15 PM in classroom for second set of parents
- Start with prayer
- Review curriculum, volunteering, expectations, field trips, homework, planner, etc.
- Please let parents know about the communication form and that it is not a part of a child's permanent record.
- Have handouts for parents with your back-to-school night information. Please give me a copy of your packet. File the copy in the teacher conference room.
- We are not making parent name tags this year. Instead, you will receive blank name tags. Please place 2 on each child's desk and ask the parents to fill out their own name tag.
- Reach out to parents that do not attend Back-to-School night and make sure they get your important information.
- Family service hours! Please give your parents some ideas how they may help you this year. Many families are concerned about family service hours. Doing things from home counts, too! We are placing a LINK on our school website where they may track their hours. Parents will need to be responsible to log their own hours and it is tracked by the main office.
This is a wonderful opportunity to talk to parents about being a godly example to kids. Example - I like to give a talk on setting the example at home through daily devotions. Many parents read their Bible - but in quiet and away from the family. Kids don't actually see them read the Bible! I encourage parents to invite their kids in to some devotion time. It's up to you - just an idea.
Next Friday, August 31, lunch orders are due from families. Our hot lunch program begins September 4.
September 6 - we will be having chapel but we have no one to lead worship. If you are willing to lead (you do not need an instrument and can even choose words with songs online) please please please let me know! If we do not get any volunteers, we will cut chapel short this day.
Remember to consistently review procedures these beginning weeks of school. Review bathroom procedures. I am hearing a lot of loud voices in restrooms...and playing. Thanks!

Simple Technology Ideas!
Also, so that I may help you integrate technology into your classroom, I would like a general list of topics you cover through the months. I can then research some things to help YOUR class specifically according to what you are teaching! This is currently for 2nd - 6th grade teachers. Please CLICK THIS LINK and fill out the form before September 6.
Every class grades 3-6 should be utilizing the computer lab weekly. All students should have access to a computer on a weekly basis. If you need me to help you with this, let me know and I will come in and assist you as I am able. I can at least give you ideas. We want to make sure our students are fully prepared for middle and high school and more access to computers is necessary.
