Capone was born on January 17, 1899 in Brooklyn, New York City. Al Capone's full name is Alphonse Gabriel Capone. He was in 6th grade when he decided to slap his teacher. He was whipped by his principal and expelled from school. He never returned. e
Capone's Crimes
The St. Valentine's Day massacre was the most spectacular gangland slaying in mob history. Al Capone had arranged for Chicago mobster George "Bugs" Moran and most of his North Side Gang to be eliminated on February 14, 1929. Capone was in Miami at the time of the murders, so he could not be pinned to the crime. Although everyone knew that Capone had organized that event, he was never charged with any crime.
Al Capone was finally indicted by the federal government on tax evasion.
Prison for Capone
In 1931, Al Capone was taken to prison for carrying a concealed weapon. He was sentenced to 11 years in Alcatraz for tax evasion and fined $80,000 signaling the down fall of one of the most nortorious criminals of the 1920s and 1930s.
Capone's final days
Al Capone contracted syphillis, a disease that he would ultimately die from. Al's many prostitues caused the disease to take over Capone's body. Capone died on January 25 1947 from a stroke brought on by the disease.. He was buried in Mount Caramal Cemetery in Chicago.
