ALL SHE DOES IS WIN WIN WIN
Very proud to know her. Very proud to call her friend. Very proud to work with her. Something everyone in our office would say about JVO. And now she's been recognized as one of the best advisors in the world. 1 of only 6 to be recognized this year! We already knew it. But it's always nice to get a plaque for it.
She is such a good advisor, it's borderline upsetting. But she's the kind of good that makes everyone around her better. She's kinda like the LeBron James of our office.
Make sure next time you see her to let her know.

Temple Honors Appalachia Application
It is my distinct pleasure to announce this year's Honors Appalachia Application is now live for participants.
Created in 2008, this week-long excursion immerses students in the life, beauty, and struggles of the Appalachian region with the aim of enriching the lives of the students and the communities they serve. At each site, teams of students build homes, assist with community projects, and explore the local environment while building community and taking time to reflect. Students return with a better sense of themselves, the world around them, and the energy to contribute locally.
Participants will need to raise $450 throughout the spring semester to come on the trip. Please don't let this deter you from applying.
The application is due November 3rd at MIDNIGHT.
Mandatory* Kickoff Meeting with $25 deposit will be 3-4 PM on December 11th.
Questions? Email Seth at sethfinck@temple.edu.
*If you are currently studying abroad, you don't have to attend the meeting, but you DO have to pay a deposit!

Freaky Fourth Friday Field Trip: Easter State Pen
Friday, October 25, 1PM
Meet in the Lounge at 1PM
Join us for our October Honors F3T to Eastern State Penitentiary, an enormous, fortified castle of a facility that revolutionized prison systems worldwide. The model for over 300 penitentiaries across the globe, Eastern State replaced physical punishment with ‘penitence’, hoping to offer inmates a chance to reflect on and repent their crimes. See what was once the largest and most expensive public building in the country: its towering cell blocks, its system of solitary confinement, Al Capone’s luxurious cell, contemporary artists' installations, an exhibit on race and incarceration, and more on a Temple-sponsored guided tour. Temple Philosophy Assistant Professor, Eugene Chislenko, whose expertise includes ethics and moral philosophy, will join us for the tour and guide us in a reflective conversation after the tour. You won't want to miss this one, trust me!
We will meet in the Honors Longue at 1:00pm and leave for the subway once we've got everyone checked in. We MUST leave no later than 1:15pm. You will be provided with round-trip subway fare and entrance to the museum / participation in the tour for only $5! Honors will cover the rest. Space is limited, so be sure to buy your ticket ASAP!
Click here to register! You can pay via PayPal here - or pay with cash in the Honors Lounge! Please RSVP & pay by October 24th to secure your spot.
Questions? Concerns? Contact Jackie at JVO@temple.edu.
We hope you can make it!
