DeSales Catholic Schools Week

The 2024 Catholic Schools Week activities at DeSales will focus on our theme of
Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.

Revised School Year Calendar
A revised school year calendar was sent home this week to reflect the Staff Development Day change. Please note that March 8, 2024 will be a normal school day for students and staff. March 22, 2024 is now a Staff Development Day with no school for students.

Finding Nemo, Jr. - Tickets Now on Sale
The students of DeSales Catholic School will proudly present "Finding Nemo, Jr." live on stage at The Historic Palace Theatre on February 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

DeSales Annual Open House
On Sunday, January 28th from Noon until 2pm we will hold our Annual Open House. This is the day prospective families can come visit DeSales. We will need help giving tours and welcoming guests, please watch for a volunteer sign up to come out next week. Please email Mrs. Kim Knuutila with any questions at knuutilak@desalescatholicschool.org.
Sign Up to Help
Parents, students in grade 5 & up and alumni are invited to give tours at the Open House. We will give you some talking points and invite you to share your experiences with prospective families.
Tell Your Friends About DeSales
Our Annual Open House for new or prospective families will be held on Sunday, January 28th from Noon until 2:00pm here at DeSales. If you know someone who may be interested in DeSales, please invite them to attend this Open House.
Our best marketing is YOU! Please help us spread the word.
Families who refer a new student entering Kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible for a $500 referral bonus! This bonus is given as a tuition credit 6 months after the new family begins paying tuition.
Report Cards
Second Marking Period Report Cards will be sent home with students Friday, February 2nd.
The HSA Easter Candy Sale is now open!

DeSales Meat Raffle
DeSales HSA will be hosting a Meat Raffle in the DeSales Gym on Saturday, February 10. Doors open at 6pm with first round starting at 7pm. *Tickets are $15 each or reserve a table of 10 for $150.* This event is for 21+

Just for attending you will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. Your student will also earn a dress down day (date to be announced at the meeting).
**Bonus** Bring a donation for the Auction in April and earn an extra entry into the raffle. Auction donation ideas: anything new, housewares, kitchen items, unused gift cards, wine, liquor, toys, beauty items, handbags, wallets etc... did you get something for Christmas you won't use? Donate it to the Auction.
No babysitter? No problem, bring the kids with you. We will have an area where they can do quiet activities.

Community Happenings
Alumna, Briana Hansen DeWitt, DCS ‘11 has been battling cystic fibrosis. Briana’s friends and family are coming together to hold a Benefit to Breathe for Briana to help with the costs of a life saving double lung transplant. If you’d like to buy a raffle ticket to help a fellow Knight, please see below.
If you’d like to learn more about Briana, Spectrum News interviewed her a few months ago about her battle with cystic fibrosis. She is a remarkable woman, we are proud to call her a Knight!
