Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of Tamanend Players' production of Beauty and the Beast on three fantastic shows last weekend! Audiences laughed and cried along with the fairy tale characters and many came back to "be our guest" more than once. Your directors are incredibly proud of your dedication and determination over the past five months. Be on the lookout for information about the Tammies, our annual awards show and viewing party, in the next few weeks!

Pi Day!

March 14th or 3 - 14 is Happy Ratio of a Circle's Circumference to its Diameter Day, Better known as Pi Day. Thank you to so many parents who helped the students celebrate in their Math class with many different food items that are made into circles. We had Pizza Pi (including a homemade Pizza Pi) there were fruit pies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies and just about anything else you can imagine. What a fun way to learn in Math class.

We hope to start a Twitter hashtag sharing of the great young adult books we are reading at Tamanend. If you would like to share your favorite book or a book that you are currently reading (and cannot put down!) please tweet to @CBTamanendMS and end with #TMSReads.

Morning Snack Pack Option Now Available

We have a new breakfast option available that we rolled last week our breakfast cart. The Morning Snack Pack is an option that students can grab in the morning at the breakfast cart to be eaten immediately or later in the day. This program appeals to the trending group of non-traditional breakfast eaters who desire flexibility and variety in their morning meal. In each bag will be an assortment of whole grain items to meet a variety of taste preferences, fruit and a bottle of water. Students may also select milk, 100% fruit juice and additional fresh fruit as part of the meal. For example, a bag may include Tostidos Scoops, whole grain animal crackers, fresh apple slices and a bottle of water. This is a great option for students on the free or reduced program, especially those students who do not typically participate in the breakfast program, because it will allow them to get a free or $0.30 snack pack that they can enjoy in the morning or save for later in the day.

Homebound Instructor Opportunity

The Central Bucks School District has a need for Certified Subject Area and Grade Level Teachers to provide Homebound Instruction for students who are temporarily unable to attend School. This instruction most often occurs at the student’s home.

Homebound Instructors are compensated for their time at the rate of $30.00 per hour with an additional reimbursement for gas mileage.

If you would like to be considered for our Homebound Instructor List; please send an email to Dr. Kahley at jkahley@cbsd.org and include Areas of Certification, as well as information on Clearances for PA School Employment.

Please note, this job opportunity is not for a specific position. We are in the process of expanding our at-home, subject area, offerings for students with a temporary academic need.

We need excellent, certified instructors both in and out-of-district, to provide one-on-one instruction in various subject areas. Please consider being a Homebound Instructor.

Support Tamanend While You Shop

If you use the following vendors, please think about supporting TMS while you shop:

  • Giant Food Store has an A+ School Rewards program through their clip-less coupon card that gives money to the school you designate every time you shop. Use this link to select Tamanend as your A+ school.
  • If you shop at Target and have a Target Red Card, you can register your card for Target's Take Charge of Education program so that Tamanend receives a percentage of your spending. Target has announced that it will end this program as of May 14, 2016 but has promised a different program instead.
  • Clip and send in Box Tops to the attention of NJHS; or, shop at the Box Top Market Place where you will find vendors such as Best Buy, KMart, Justice and more.
  • If you like to shop online, check out the eScrip Online Mall. When you sign up for an account, selecting Tamanend earns money for our school.
