The WES Parent Wildcat Weekly
Home of the Wildcats!
Week of March 29 - April 2, 2021
Hello from Principal Holmes!
Dear Wildcat Parents,
Warm weather and the windy breeze reminds us that spring is in the air. I hope everyone enjoyed the beauty of the weather even with the rain. This week on Thursday is the opening day for MLB baseball! As a celebration, we are going to have a jersey day. What a great way to lead into the four-day weekend. Friday, April 2, and Monday, April 5 are holidays for students and staff. We hope you will find some time to relax and enjoy some family time together.
Two more months of this school year. Although it has been full of twists and turns, we have prevailed. Our students are learning and growing many thanks to a dedicated and passionate staff along with supportive parents. Together, we are preparing our wildcats for a bright future!
Let's make this a great short week full of learning and fun!
With wildcat pride and spirit,
Dianne Holmes

MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT, Dr. Baker
I hope that all of our families enjoyed a restful and joyful spring break. This week, our schools continued into the final academic quarter implementing our hybrid in-person learning while also preparing for our division-wide expansion to four days on April 12, 2021.
Below are some announcements and reminders as we look to the week ahead.
Announcements & Reminders
Following the school board’s approval of the recommended in-person learning expansion, we have continued to make preparations based on recent and evolving guidance from local, state, and national health officials. Part of those preparations include making adjustments and/or changes to our current Return to Learn Hybrid Addendum Document. The changes to date can be viewed here.
Our COVID-19 Dashboard is updated daily and can be viewed in the Return to Learn section on each school’s website or by clicking this link: SCPS COVID-19 Dashboard. Also, on our webpage is a link to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Dashboard. This site provides data and statistics regarding COVID-19 positivity rates and cases per 100,000 by locality, region, and state.
