Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 3rd April 2020
Sharing all our home learning
Happy Easter to our School family
Over the last week we have been inundated with wonderful pictures of the fabulous work, activities and experiences that the children have had whilst home learning.
Well done to everyone! We are all very proud of you all!
We have put quite a few of these pictures onto our gallery pages and these can be accessed using the following link:

The teachers have put together a bank of ideas that you might wish to access to help keep children active and learning over the Easter period. These can found under the home learning tab on the school website.

Although continued learning is important, the current situation within the country is difficult for everyone, particularly the children in our care, who may express their frustration and confusion in many ways. What our children need now, more than anything, is to be loved and to feel like it is going to be ok. Please do prioritise the wellbeing of yourselves and your children.

Please do not worry about children regressing; every child in the country is in the same situation. When we do get back to school we will all work hard to support your child. Teachers at Ripon Cathedral School are experts at this.
At the end of this current situation the most important thing will be your child’s mental health and well-being. How they have felt during this period will stay with them longer than the memory of what they did during this time.
We are sending you our best wishes, from everyone at Ripon Cathedral School. It is going to be an unusual Easter break, however, we hope that you can make some special memories while staying safe at home.
If you are struggling or do need any help, please do email the admin account and a member of staff will be in touch.
Be safe and look after each other.

Keep those photos coming in!
Olivia described her own dragon based on the Year 4 class book 'How to train your dragon' and has done a wonderful drawing of it too; Charlie has done some great design technology (helped by the dog!); Noah identified human and physical geographical features on his daily walk with his mum and dog and it looks like Ella and Dominic did some great baking.

Charlotte also made some hot cross buns. We hope lots of you have enjoyed baking this week.
Year 5 'School of Mum and Dad'!
Zoe says week one of “mum & sometimes dad school” wasn’t so bad!! She has obviously been very busy, like her class mates, with reading, Times Tables Rockstars and Purple Mash work. It's also good to see that they are getting stuck into extra project work and being active outside and in. Owen reports, 'When I’m not on TT Rockstars I go on Sumdog to do maths and they have different levels. The last level is Panamanian Golden Frog which sounded really cool. When I looked at them I found they live near where the Mayans lived so I thought I would do a project on them. Hope you like it!' Which Miss Heslop did, of course!
Thank you for sending us your love and rainbows, Alexa and Jay!
