Ferson Creek eNews

May 21, 2022

From the Principal...Kristy McKnight

I cannot believe that I am writing to you for the final eNews of the 2021-2022 school year. What a year it has been! There have been so many wonderful times from this school year...morning meetings, mystery readers, concerts, valuable class learning experiences, class parties, Ferson Way celebrations, and many many smiles! This year has showed us once again how amazing your children are and how powerful our relationships are here at school. It has also continued to show what a dedicated staff we have here at Ferson. With the needs of your children as their focus, they have continued to create an atmosphere of belonging, challenge, and fun! My hope is that all students feel their growth, both academically and social emotionally, from the start of the school year. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day and helping us continue to foster the Ferson Way of being Kind Respectful Learners!

If you have not yet registered your children for school next year, NOW IS THE TIME! Please click the button below to start the process. Ferson Way Celebration

We had our final Ferson Way celebration this week. In collaboration with the PTO, all students participated in an earth friendly project. Using plastic bottle caps from the recycling center, students created works of art that will be on display and up for auction next year! Our previous sunflower mural that we created became a lesson in reuse. A portion of the mural is framed and will be displayed in our school. The rest of the mural was repurposed for students to make banners. Below you can see photos of the all the work that was done. We look forward to having you see all of the finished projects!

From the Nurse

Please arrange to pick up your child's medication form the health office by the last day of school. Medication left behind after the last day of school will be promptly discarded/destroyed per pharmacy and state health care standards. Thank you for your cooperation.

2022-2023 PTO Board Officers Election

The purpose of the Ferson Creek Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is to enhance the curricular and extracurricular educational experience of all children and to support programs which would otherwise not be offered by providing necessary funding, volunteers and materials to teachers, students and the school.

The PTO is comprised of 3-8 elected Board Officer positions in addition to Ex Officio Board Members, dozens of non-elected committee chairs, and numerous volunteers. For the 2022-2023 school year, we are electing the Board Officers.

This year's Board Officers are working together as a team to help the PTO run efficiently and smoothly. To fulfill the IRS requirements for a 501(c)3, these officers will include position titles, such as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer; however, this year's nominated officers have chosen to work collaboratively, regardless titled positions.

Please cast your vote below for the PTO Board Officers for the 2022-2023 school year. Voting is open to any Ferson Creek parent, guardian, or staff member. Anyone that does not vote will be considered to have an abstained ballot.

Ballots must be submitted before May 26, 2022 at midnight.

Cast your vote!
