End of Year Message from Ms. Dilks

On Tuesday our 8th grade class participated in our Promotion Ceremony. We would like to thank all of the family, friends, and staff members who participated in and attended our program. This was an exciting milestone for our 8th graders. Thank you for support of and involvement in our school.

Listed below is information that you will need as we move into the summer and prepare for the next school year. You will receive updates throughout the summer as well via Connect Ed and the Virtual Backpack.

Report Cards:

Report cards will be viewable on the Home Access Center on Thursday, June 20. They will no longer be available to view or print after June 30, 2019. Please make sure you view/print your child's report card before June 30. They system rolls over to the next school year after this date.

Summer Resources for Students:

We often get questions at this time of year about resources for the summer. There is a memo posted to the Virtual Backpack that explains suggested or available resources. Here is the link to the memo:

New Student Open House:

During the summer, we provide an opportunity for new students and incoming sixth grade students to come into Murray Avenue before the first day of school. On Thursday, August 22, 2019, from 6:30-8:30 pm the school will be open for self-guided tours. Principals and counselors will be available to answer questions, and students who want to practice opening a locker will be able to do so. There will be a presentation for parents of new students and/or incoming sixth grade students at 6:30 pm on this day. This is a repeat of the Grade 5 Parent Informational Meeting that was held on May 30th at Murray Avenue.

Back to School Night for MA:

Back to School Night for MA will be the second day of school, Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Please mark your calendars for this important night. We will also be offering informational sessions on how to support your child in a One2One digital/technology environment before Back to School Night in the cafeteria at 6 pm. Parents can rotate through 15 minute sessions on tech topics that will help them better understand the tools used by their child and resources available to them.
