a note from your director

Welcome to week 3 of the new semester! This week will be a four-day week with Monday being a holiday!

As we continue to prepare for UIL Solo & Ensemble, our piano accompaniment rehearsals will begin this week. The students have received a link to the file that contains the specific date, time and accompanist name for each student. Those students participating in UIL Solo & Ensemble must have their solo performance ready before they have their first accompaniment rehearsal.

ALL Jaguar Band students should be fitted for their Formal Attire for the upcoming UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation in March. If you have not already been fitted, please make sure you sign up on the Sign-Up Genius! The final date for fitting is Saturday January 22nd.

Calling all Hawaii travelers!!! There will be a mandatory meeting February 8th at 6:30 p.m. in JHS Band Hall. We will cover all rules/regulations, itinerary items as well as flight assignments, room assignments and any new COVID protocols.

This week is a regular week, please see the calendar for all rehearsals concerning band, guard and percussion. Make sure you have synchronized with the official band calendar. The calendar is on the bands webpage and the small plus sign in the bottom right of the calendar will synch.

As we move through this short week we want to make sure everyone keeps an eye out for a major announcement about this coming fall! There is some SUPER EXCITING NEWS that will be announced this spring!

As always It’s A Great Day To Be A Jaguar!

Winterguard Fees: $200

This fee covers costs such as unitards, inventory for shoe and glove replacements, competition entries, prop supplies, design and production services, and shared cost of contributing towards production of show, including cost of floors, props and costumes.

Please note that we are able to keep these costs low by 1) contribution from boosters towards costumes and props; and 2) the small amount of funds provided by the district to the overall “band” program. (FYI each color guard costume, whether it be marching band or winter guard, costs on average $200).

You can pay your Winterguard Fee on the band website at https://www.johnsonbands.com/all-products

    • If you would like to make arrangements for payments or seek assistance with costs, please feel free to contact Ida Musgrove at president@johnsonbands.com. We do not want costs to prevent any student from participating in guard!

we've moved to google calendar!

Please visit the Johnson Band website (johnsonbands.com) to sync your calendar to our new Google Calendar. We no longer use the Charms Calendar.
