Power On
Joy James Administration Team
Who's Who
Ms. Leigh Ann Turner, Principal @ JJE
I graduated from Harding University with degree in Education and UT at Tyler with a Master's in Educational administration. I taught 8 years before moving into administration and have been in education for 18 years.
I’m excited to be serving Joy James Elementary this year! When I look at education and the changes that have occurred just during my career, it is incredible. And as I look to the future and anticipate what is yet to come I’m literally amazed. The JJE 2014-2015 theme is “Power-On!” -- Create.Connect.Capture. As we prepare our students to be 21st century learners and leaders, this is exactly what we will do. We will “power on” all of our technology resources to bring the world to our students’ fingertips and enhance our academic experiences. We will create goals, connect to the resources needed and capture the moment as our own. For the past several months we have been assembling the team that will bring this theme to life for our students. We know the key resource is still the teacher and I am proud to work with the JJE faculty, parents and community members who will create inspiration and guide our students toward success for the 2014-2015 school year.
Mrs. Shannon Shea, Assistant Principal @ JJE
I graduated from Howard Payne University with my undergraduate degree in 2003 and gained my Masters in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University in 2009.
After teaching three years in other districts, I finally found why way home to Castleberry ISD. I taught Algebra for four years at CHS, served as an Elementary Instructional Specialist for four years, and am now the Assistant Principal at Joy James Elementary.
I am married to Shane Adams, a Castleberry graduate, and together we have a handsome three year old son, Bodie Shea Adams. He is most definitely the light of our lives!
I am VERY much looking forward to the new year. We have a great set of teachers and staff at Joy James Elementary and I personally can’t wait for the opportunity to show off our skills this year!
Mrs. Liz Brown, School Counselor @ JJE
My name is Liz Brown and I am the school counselor at Joy James Elementary. I am so happy to say that I am beginning my 7th year with Castleberry ISD. The first of the school year is always an exciting time for me for I know that I will soon be seeing my cherished JJE family! It’s a time of looking forward to meeting new JJE students, their families as well as meeting any new co-workers!
I have worked as a school counselor in several school districts. Prior to working in Castleberry ISD my husband and I lived in Prosper and I worked in Little Elm ISD as an intermediate counselor. I have 20+ years in education. My graduate degree is in Counseling and my undergraduate degree is Elementary Education. I minored in music.
Many good things are happening at JJE and I am thankful to be a part of this wonderful community.
