Volunteers Update
February 2021
Dear Rockwell Elementary Community,
I am glad to share that we are ready to take another step toward getting back to normal. We are now able to start welcoming small numbers of volunteers, including TeamMate mentors and Watch DOG Dads back into the building. These two groups are so important to our students and staff. The work they do has an impact and they have been missed. If you were an active Watch DOG last year, our coordinator will be contacting you about modified volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in becoming a Watch DOG, please contact the Rockwell main office at (402) 715-8246. Although we will be starting with small volunteer opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
At the same time, we are still very much in a pandemic. Health and safety come first, and the measures we have in place are doing a good job of stopping the spread of the virus in our building. Our volunteers, Watch DOGS, and TeamMates will follow all of our protocols, including masking, social distancing and sanitizing.
We will be expanding other volunteer opportunities based on school and teacher needs as the 4th quarter progresses. Please be patient as we phase in the number of volunteers and activities they are able to do.
We are so glad we have been able to remain in school and volunteer opportunities are starting again! Thank you for everything you have done to help us remain safe and open. If you have questions you may call the main office at 402-715-8246.
Regards,
Joycilyn Y. Rozelle, Principal
