Ms. Sadie Gayton receives award
Dear friends at Ebinport Elementary,
I am pleased to let you know that we have selected Ms. Sadie Gayton as the Outstanding Crossing Guard for our Upstate region. It was quite clear from your application that Ms. Gayton is dedicated to the safety and health of your students in a number of ways.
This is the email I received announcing her selection. Ms. Sadie cares for our students and staff in so many capacities. As we celebrated her accomplishment today, all I could see was smiles, joy, pride, and sincere thankfulness. How fitting during this season of Thanksgiving that we are able to give thanks for all that Ms. Sadie does everyday without complaining and always with a smile. If you have not already done so, please express your congratulations and gratitude with Ms. Sadie. She represents everything Ebinport stands for.
CN2 and The Herald covered the program today, as did the representative from Safe Routes to School, Andrea Kelsey. Andrea noted that this award recognizes 16 counties, which is a lot of schools and a lot of crossing guards. Mrs. Sadie was 1 of 3 to win this award. Coverage from today's celebration will air tonight. CN2 further honored Ms. Sadie by making her their Home Town Hero. The Home Town Hero coverage will air Nov. 24th on CN2. Finally, the Parade of Excellence was amazing. Thank you teachers and students for making this day so special for Ms. Sadie.

Staff Holiday Celebration
As in past years, the Pundt’s are excited to host the staff Holiday Celebration. If you have not been before, the address is 2175 Seaside Road, York, SC 29745.
For the party next Friday night, please find the sign up list to bring an item on the counter in the old office. Feel free to bring your beverage of choice. Mrs. Wright needs to have a number to know how much to prepare for by next Wednesday.
We are going to have Karaoke, a lip sync competition, and line dancing. So wear your cowboy boots and be ready to have some fun. Bring your spouse or a friend and plan on a night of laughter and memories.

PTO Update
2. Run-A-Than Sponsors - The PTO is looking for a few more sponsors for our annual Run-A-Thon. If you know a contact person within a local business or company, please send me their contact information and I will pass it on to the PTO.
3. Pie in the face - The annual "Pie in the Face" tradition at the Run-A-Thon has been voted out. The PTO is asking for suggestions from teachers to replace this event. If you have a fun idea, please share it and I will pass it on to the PTO.
Shout-outs to Mrs. Reid and Mrs. Pundt for attending the PTO meeting. It was their presence that started the conversation of changing the Pie in the Face. There will be no PTO meeting in December. The next PTO meeting will be Jan. 17, 2017 at 6:30.
