Dear Ponaganset High School Families,
The Rhode Island Department of Education is currently administering its yearly SurveyWorks Parent Survey, which is an opportunity for parents to provide feedback about our school and our children’s opportunities to learn. The survey results are most useful when all parents engage, so we are writing to ask you to participate in this survey. We'd love to see a record high response rate this year!
Your feedback is essential to student and school success. Your views on matters like the safety of your child at school, the way students are taught, the condition of the school, and how connected you feel to this school are important. By taking this short survey, you can help our school leadership make improvements to our school. The survey is voluntary. Responses are anonymous and cannot be linked to any individual; no one can tie your responses back to you.
Parents and guardians can take the short survey online between now and March 31, 2022. To take the survey, visit: bit.ly/ridefamily Please select Ponaganset High School from the drop down menu and click “Take this Survey”. Once finished, click “submit”.
4 Easy Steps to Complete Your Family Survey
Step 1: Visit bit.ly/ridefamily
Step 2: You have now accessed the family survey. There is a drop-down menu in the top left-hand corner: select English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
Step 3: Click where it says select and look for your child’s school in the drop-down menu. Once you find the school, click on “Take this Survey.”
Step 4: For each question, select the answers that best apply to your experience and beliefs. Once finished, click “Submit,” and you are done!
Thank you!

At Ponaganset High School, we take pride in our academics. Our scholars participate in a range of educational activities throughout the day. Here is a sample of our teaching and learning:
Pictured below: Students in Ms. Sanborn's Personal Finance class played the game of Life to prepare for the budgeting unit they will be beginning next week. During this unit students are assigned a career, paycheck, must budget for an apartment, etc.
Pictured below: You're never too old to blow bubbles! Students in Ms. Tvenstrup's Psychology class participated in a bubble activity as a way to engage in and learn about the psychological concepts of sensation, perception, emotion, stress, memory, learning, and development/personality.

The members of the high school administration team (Mrs. Amanda Grundel and Ms. Karlene Murray) are committed to recognizing our educators. As such, they developed the Golden Apple Pie Award. This award is given to groups of educators in the building who are collaborating in an effort to support and educate our students. The first Golden Apple Pie Award was presented to our Health/PE teachers, school counselors, guidance secretary, the school social worker and the school psychologist for their work in unrolling the state-mandated suicide prevention and awareness curriculum to our students.
