Winter To Spring Changes . . .
This is the time of year we have a mix of warmer and colder days. Temperatures ranging from the 30's to the 50's in the same day is common. It is also the time we have rain, sleet, snow and mud in abundance. Even our clocks spring forward on the 13th! Determining the appropriate outerwear needed can be a challenge. So here are a few tips:
1. Boots & shoe boots are not only good for snow, they are good for mud. Having your child wear them to school is a good option for when they go out to recess to keep the mud off their nicer shoes.
2. Extra socks, kept in a backpack, can be helpful when a student steps in a puddle and water seeps into their shoes. They can put on dry socks and their PE shoes while there outside shoes have a chance to dry off a bit.
3. Layers give students options as the weather changes by hour. Bringing a sweatshirt with a jacket can help when the morning is colder, but the afternoon is warmer.
4. Pack a hat & knit gloves in your child's backpack just in case the temperature falls rapidly throughout the day.
We want our Panthers to stay warm and dry no matter what the weather brings. Thank You!!

Last Call for 5 Essentials Survey for Parents (Jan 11 - March 11th)
Each year the State of Illinois gives you the opportunity to take a survey about your neighborhood school(s) that your child(ren) attend(s). It is optional and if you want to participate know that your feedback is confidential. The school and district never receive information about who took the survey. The only information we receive is the data from all the responses.
The State uses this information to develop a snapshot of each school. Parents and teachers have the option of participating in this survey. Students in 4th - 8th grades also participate in the survey. This way, the snapshot includes feedback from parents, staff and students. The hope is that we can look at the data and from it make decisions about what we should keep doing and what things might need to change, or be adjusted. If you would like to participate in this survey representing Park View Parents please click on the link below. If you have a child in another school, you can take the survey again and choose that other school in your second survey. Thank You!
