This week, we will be busy making holiday gifts for our families! We hope you enjoy all of them and know they were made with love.

During the week we will be reading stories, having discussions and participating in activities about different winter holidays. The children will learn more about Hanukkah, Kwanza, Las Posadas and Christmas. We will learn about similarities and differences between these holidays, and why they all involve lights of some kind.

Today we had maker time in our classroom. We used boxes, paper, ribbon and other fun items to decorate boxes for the gifts we made! The kids had a great time making and creating! We also tasted peppermint candy canes and graphed whether we liked them or not!

We were treated to a holiday performance today by the 4th and 5th graders. They sung songs, danced and played instruments. At the end we all joined in a holiday sing-a-long! We had a great time watching our buddy readers perform!

We had a fantastic polar express day! The children had a fun time listening to the story, watching the movie and having a snack while wearing their pajamas! We also had fun decorating Christmas cookies and eating them!
