Here’s What You Need to Know About Bad Weather Delays and Closures
When bad weather is in the forecast, we always try to let our families know as quickly as possible about any delays, cancellations or closures.
A decision to change normal school and district operations isn’t taken lightly, so our district leadership is always working to evaluate all the latest information, including weather forecasts, road conditions, recommendations from area emergency management officials, and of course, check-ins with other superintendents and school districts.
When a decision is made, we use all of our available communications channels to get this information out to our families, including call-outs, emails, text messages, web pop-ups and social media. Make sure you're following the district here: @SpringISD on Twitter, Spring ISD on Facebook, and @Spring.ISD on Instagram. Also, don’t forget to download the Spring ISD mobile app to receive push notifications: Simply go to either the Apple App Store or Google Play on Android phones and search for ‘Spring ISD.’
Finally, it’s a great time to make sure your contact information is updated in the Home Access Center. Or if you’re an employee, log into the Employee Access Center. If you’ve changed emails or phone numbers recently, take a few moments to log in and make sure we have your newest contact information.

STUDENT DATA
Don't forget about the CLASS ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE! TWO MORE DAYS TO GO!
Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31, will your child's class be the class that will enjoy a popsicle party and a BOOKER SURPRISE?
Starting September 3rd, we will be doing a weekly incentive for all classes with 100% attendance and ZERO tardies! Every five days, we will pull attendance records, tally, and then send home a notice to all classes who have achieved their attendance goal! If your child receives an attendance reward in their Wednesday folder, then they will get to enjoy a free cookie and receive a free dress code band, good for the following Thursday. Teachers will also get to enjoy a FREE JEAN DAY as well! (Wristbands will be required to participate!)
Parents, we need your help! ATTENDANCE MATTERS! Our students need to come to school every day! The state is still requiring all students to be in attendance at least 90% of the school year and maintain a high level of academic achievement. We understand that kids get sick, but be mindful that in order to help ensure your child's academic success, we must have them present and engaged in the learning each day! Absenteeism leads to failing grades and/even to social/emotional instability in students' mental health. Please join us in the efforts to make our BOOKER BENGALS SHINE this year!
SCHOOL START TIME - 8:05AM
STUDENTS ARRIVING AFTER 8:05AM MUST HAVE A TARDY SLIP SIGNED BY THE PARENT!
BOY TESTING IN PROGRESS
Parents,
All of our Bengals have started beginning of the year assessments. Please speak to your child about DOING THEIR VERY BOOKER BEST on all BOY tests. The data collected will help drive acceleration and intervention groups, as well as tutorials.
