First Grade Morning Message
Reading
Description of Work:
I can reread to learn new things about the characters.
Watch Mr. Putter and Tabby again. As you listen, look for one new thing about the star character. Discuss with your family and write a sentence or two about what you new thing you learned about the character.
Read for 20 minutes on RAZ-Kids.
Word Work
For Word Work, watch the "AI" video. Read the Gail the Snail passage and discuss the questions with your family.
For spelling, write words one-time each and create a rhyming word to rhyme with your spelling word. Write it with sidewalk chalk or on paper.

Description of Work:
I can brainstorm realistic problems and solutions for my character.
Watch the video with Mrs. Williams. Think about your character you created from yesterday. Think of several different problems that character could have. How will your character solve the problem? Use the picture to help you create 3 different problems and solutions for your story. Save this paper to help your write your story later this week.
Math
Description of Work:
I can use tools to measure.
Watch the measurement video.
Measure family members. Have your family member lay down on the ground and use beans, paperclips, pennies, or an object of your choice to measure how tall they are. Make sure you do not have gaps or overlaps (see anchor chart).
