Learning with Mrs. Ackenbom's Littles
A short but sweet week!
Martin Luther King Jr. and Community Helpers
We learned a lot about Martin Luther King Jr. during this short week and discussed why American citizens celebrate his bravery. We worked together searching for words King would have said like "peace" and "unity."
In addition to learning about past influential Americans with strong character, we practiced good decision making during our day in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. We had a blast saying compliments, completing kindness challenges to help our friends feel good about themselves, and giving a pat on the back for trying hard in class.
We made sure to say thank you to community helpers such as police officers who keep us safe. We even were able to talk to a Crozet police officer this past Thursday. What a great opportunity for learning!
Diversity Lesson
We then investigated how different colored eggs all look the same on the inside...just like people. We may look different, but we all feel the same feelings!
