Creating & Collaborating with 21st Century Tools
Professional Development with Julie Keefe, WPS Instructional Tech Coach
On the iPad we'll be using Google Drive to open, create and share documents. We can take PDFs and annotate them with Notability. We can review an article together using Subtext. Explain Everything will allow you to do just that- explain a concept to teach others.
Then we'll venture online for free resources. Padlet.com will serve as a quick & easy space for online discourse. Smore.com is a free resource for online page creation- great for summing up a concept or sharing one's learning. Edmodo.com continues learning beyond the classroom and can work for professional development as well.
Is this iPad training? No, it's a chance to engage today's classroom tools in a meaningful way.
Today's key features:
Smore
An incredible site for building online flyers that can be used as book review sites, online posters, or newsletters.
Padlet
A quick and easy way to share student responses.
Edmodo
Host your classroom online with this free resource and promote dialogue among students, share videos and articles and even align it to articles and books on Subtext.
Notability
More than just a note taking app- craft a reader's notebook with text, images, annotations, audio and the ability to email a note out instantly.
Google Drive
A free resource for creating collaborative documents, sharing files between students and teachers, as well as getting photos and videos into other apps.
Explain Everything
Giving students the power to showcase their thinking with images, text, animation, and so much more.
How can I make this work in the classroom?
