New Safety Posts to Keep Us Safe

The are two new posts and some cones at the Primary School to prevent vehicles from driving on the pedestrian walk from the parking lot. We want to be sure that the all who walk in that area will be safe. Thanks for helping us to keep everyone safe around our parking lots.

Some new items for our libarary

Below you will find some photos of replicas of our country's famous documents. A gracious individual donated the documents and the PTO payed for the framing. The Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence are on display. We will get more information to our students about these in the near future.

Getting charged up about technology

Below are photos of the charging stations for the netbooks that children use during the day. Instead of taking the computers home, the students will place their devices into the slots for charging each evening. Each morning, the children will be have computers ready to use for the entire day. The charging stations are located just outside the 4th grade classrooms. Thanks to our tech staff and maintenance team for their work on the installation.

Response to intervention

As the school year moves along, response to intervention groups (RtI) will be formed. This time is dedicated to your child's day where reading, specifically, is the focus of support. If your child is in a TARGETED group, you will be receiving a letter from your child's teacher regarding your child's placement. If you have any concerns or questions about RtI, please contact me at your convenience. All children will be served during this 45 minutes block depending on their reading assessment level.

Mike Budisch, Principal

It has been a terrific first few weeks of school and you would be proud of the work your children are getting done. Thanks for the support of the Merton Way!
