Bright - "A School to Emulate!"
A Fresh Start - 11/14 - 11/18/16
Hello Bright Staff!
We have one more week until a much needed break. For many people this break brings excitement. For others it can bring about stress. Please be mindful of this as you interact with students and one another this week.
Morning Student Pick-Up: Please be sure to have a representative pick up the students in your grade level at 7:30 am. There is quite a difference between the number of students who arrive between 7:30 am and 7:32 am.
Student Management: This is a reminder the district reps from CABS will be in the building this week completing a needs assessment on student behavior management to help develop a plan of action. Below are a few areas of focus for data analysis:
* Specific student behaviors
* Building culture
* Procedures and expectations
* Staff responses to student behaviors
* Staff interactions that may trigger student behaviors
* Communication over the radio
* Communication in the presence of students
* Intervention plans that are currently being used
* De-escalation strategies that are being used and the effectiveness
Technology: Over the past few weeks we have received requests to have technology equipment replaced. We do not have additional funds in the budget to replace items that have been lost. If your grade level is missing equipment, please see Sharla on how those items can be replaced.
Parent /Teacher Conferences: The P/T conference window ends November 18th. You have done a wonderful job of finding the time to meet with all of the parents. Please document and keep a record of your conferences with families.
Thanks everyone and let's have a great week!

From the Bright PTA
Dear Ida Lee Bright Elementary PTA Leader,
If you are like me, you are ready to take a break from the Presidential election and focus on something a little closer to home. Besides, what is more important than our children, our schools and our communities? I can’t think of anything!
I know you are working hard. So far, you have 77 members on file. That puts you only 49 members away from an increase over last year. I know you can do it!
Membership Message #10
Want to make a difference in November? Choose to join Ida Lee Bright Elementary at www.joinpta.org. Together we can:
- Protect children from being bullied online and off
- Focus on quality teaching and learning instead of high-stakes testing for elementary and middle school students
- Provide our teachers and schools the money they need to support every child.
