Mask Reminder

As stated by the district's Return-to-Learn plan, face masks are still required to be worn until Tuesday, January 18th. Until then, please remind your students of the requirement that is still in effect.

Snow Gear ❄

Please remember to send your students with snow gear, which includes coats, snow pants, gloves, hats, and boots. Students must have snow pants and boots in order to play in the snow at recess. If the temperature feels like its above 1 degree students will go outside for recess.

2022-23 Tiger Cubs Preschool Enrollment

2022-23 Tiger Cubs Enrollment Process Opens Jan. 17, 2022


The online enrollment process for 2022-23 Tiger Cubs Preschool with the West Des Moines Community Schools (WDMCS) will begin at 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. Online enrollment for Tiger Cubs, including placement requests, will be made available at discover.wdmcs.org/tiger-cubs-enrollment at that time.


  • Current WDMCS families with incoming preschoolers will complete online enrollment for the entire family during this process. They will be able to review contact information, update emergency contacts, and more. Other back-to-school steps like getting the school supply list will still happen in the summer.
  • Families new to WDMCS will complete new student enrollment online for incoming preschoolers.
  • Families without access to the internet or those in need of an interpreter will be able to receive assistance at the Learning Resource Center, 3550 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
    • Families can also receive enrollment support from 8-10 a.m. on Jan. 17 at Crestview School of Inquiry, 8355 Franklin Ave., Clive.
  • A virtual Tiger Cubs Preschool option may be available in 2022-23 based on interest from families. Please mark your interest in the Infinite Campus online enrollment form.


Tiger Cubs is the WDMCS preschool program, funded through Statewide Voluntary Preschool, with no cost to families. Tiger Cubs provides opportunities for children to develop important learning skills. Tiger Cubs Preschools has 4-year-old programs at Clive Learning Academy, Crestview School of Inquiry, Fairmeadows, Hillside, Jordan Creek, Western Hills, and Westridge elementary schools, as well as the Learning Resource Center. Tiger Cubs preschool includes special education students ages 3-5.

Chipotle Fundraiser
Head to Chipotle, eat some yummy food and earn money for Clive Learning Academy! The fundraiser runs 5 to 9 pm on January 11 at Valley West Chipotle, 1551 Valley West Dr Ste 224,

West Des Moines.

For online pickup orders, use online ordering code BEGCPVK. For in person, show the flier (printed or on your phone) or tell the cashier that you are supporting Clive Learning Academy! If you don't let the cashier know, we won’t earn $. Gift cards purchased during fundraisers do not count towards total donated sales, but purchases made with an existing gift card will count.

Friendship Classroom Parties: Friday, February 11
While it seems like we just finished with Winter Party celebrations, it is time to look forward to our February Friendship Parties. Each classroom will have their own party, with craft, game and snack. Sadly, we still cannot welcome parent volunteers.


Students are invited to bring Valentine cards to school to share with their classmates on the party day. Right now, the PTO is collecting Valentine cards for students in need. If you'd like to pick up an extra box or two when you are out shopping and donate them to the office, we would gladly accept them! A sign up sheet for other party supply donations will be shared at a later date.
