How The Indians Got Their Food

The Indians got their food by hunting and farming.They farmed corn, squash, and beans. They harvested berries, nuts, acorns, and tree sap. They hunted black bears, deer, elk, fish, beaver, rabbit, turkey, and racoons.

Did they stay where they were?

Yes,they did. They stayed in hamlets or villages, and some tribes stayed in towns.

  • They built homes from trees
  • They used furs of woodland animals for clothes
  • They used the land to farm and hunt animals

What was their goverment ?

They were governed by a council of all men.
