Qualifications
Must be 30 years old
Citizen of the United States for 9 years before elections
Legal residents of the state they represent
All voters of each state elect senators, at large, or statewide.
Term Of Office
Elections held in November of even numbered of years
Begin terms on January 3, after the previous election held in november
Senators are given 6 year terms, but 1/3 of the senate had a Re- election every 2 years.
If a senator dies or resigns b efore the end of there term, the state legislature may authorized the the governor to appoint some one to fill the vancancy until the next election.
Governor may also call a special election to fill the seat

Free from arrest in all cases except treason, felony, and breach of the peace when they are attending congress are on their way to or from congress
Members of congress can not be sued for anything they say in the house or senate floor.
