Mrs. Dick

Hello! My name is Tracy Dick and I’m excited to be starting my ninth year as a SAGE teacher! Before coming to SAGE, I taught fourth grade for three years and fifth grade for three years at Clardy Elementary. My husband, Roger, and I have two daughters who are graduates of the North Kansas City School District and SAGE alumni. It has been fun experiencing SAGE through the lens of a parent and a teacher and seeing firsthand the positive impact it has had on so many students, including my own! I’m looking forward to another great year at the NIC.

Nurse

The SAGE Center school nurse is Amy Latz. She can be reached at (816) 321-5353. Please inform the SAGE Center nurse and your child's home school nurse of any changes in health concerns during the school year. Please be aware that medications must be brought to school by the parent and cannot be transported by the student

SAGE Spanish

Your student receives a total of 30 minutes of Spanish instruction a week.

This amount of time will not make your child proficient, but it will give them an introduction to the sounds and use of the language.

We use Spanish at the SAGE center to help students work on their skills of:

-persistence

-dealing with frustration

-problem solving and flexible thinking

Our conversational, interactive approach allows all students to come to class and participate. Whether it’s their first year of Spanish or their fifth, all students are given the supports to learn at their level.

Third Graders are introduced to greetings, pets, prepositions and story vocabulary.

Fourth graders will learn greetings, food, clothing and preferences.

Fifth graders topics include greetings, family, personal descriptions and Day of the Dead
