Need to Know at Sunset Valley:
*Progress Reports: If you were looking ahead at when grades were due you may have noticed it said the 11th. YIKES. Too fast, right!?!
Dr. Kephart has updated the dates to the following:
- FDOL Due Dates: October 11 (no change)
- Teachers have until the following date to enter scores for Q1: October 15
- Q1 Review Dates: October 15
- Distribution Dates: October 16 (print date for Parent-Teacher Conferences)
**Make sure your grades are entered by the end of the day on the 15th! If you enter a comment or grade the morning of the 16th before printing, it will not pull your update when printed. **
*Message from Annie Nierman: If your students are having difficulty getting into programs and sites that are school-related, very often it is the apps and extensions they have loaded for their personal use. Wallpaper extensions cause a majority of the problems, as well as tab and background extensions. Instructions are included for removing extensions. If appropriate, please share with students so they can work on removing the extensions they added to their Chromebooks. If issues remain, the next step is a TMT. Hopefully this will help things go more smoothly in the classroom.
Uninstall Google Extension Using Customize and Control
- Click the Customize and control menu icon on the Google Chrome toolbar
(the three stacked dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen)
- Select More tools from the menu.
- Select Extensions from the side menu.
- Click, Remove, next to the extension you wish to remove.
Verify remove in the pop up box
You have removed an extension!
- Sometimes another window will open asking why you are leaving or that the site is not secure. Close those tabs.
*Tier 1 Behavior Focus Area: Will start working through the MATRIX ---> Responsibility!
-Golden Paws are worth 5 points! Keep this in mind for your classroom goal.
-Announcements on the Focus Area will be made each Monday; with specific expectations.
-Regular paws can still be given by teachers, in those focus areas.
-THANK YOU -- I'm hearing the encouraging conversations!

*DON'T FORGET COURTESY DUES!!!* Courtesy Committee is now collecting dues for this school year. For those of you that are new to SVE, the Sunset Valley Elementary Courtesy Committee was established to recognize big events (births, weddings, deaths, hospitalizations, retirements) in each others' lives with showers/receptions, or by sending cards/flowers/gifts from the SVE Staff, as well as coordinating other staff celebrations and recognizing staff members as deemed appropriate by the staff.
All SVE staff members are asked to contribute yearly dues at the start of each school year in the following manner:
Full-time Certified staff = $30.00
Classified staff or half-time certified staff = $15.00
** Certified staff members that travel between SVE and another building(s), need only pay dues at whichever school is considered their "home" school.
**Staff members that choose not to contribute yearly dues will only be recognized with a card from the staff for the above mentioned events.
Dues can be given to Kelly Merit or Krista Hall. We would prefer dues be paid in cash this year, although checks can be made out to Kelly or Krista.
