Polaris Update
On Feb 11, the Polaris circulation system will be updated. DO NOT BE AFRAID!!
The new screen will look almost the same as the old one and very few things will work differently. I will be getting staff up to speed ahead of time.
There will be some inconvenience on that morning of the 11th until the system comes back online. I'll be here to help at the desk
Patron Contact List
We have a system in place for asking permission and creating a database of patron contact info. We'll be using it to send newsletters to our friends and supporters about what's going on at the library. Please remember to ask patrons' permission when checking them out. Staff can help you with what you do if the patron says yes.
Why do we have to ask? Because libraries consider patron records confidential. People gave us all that information so they could get books, not for anything else. If we want to use it for something else, we have to ask. Nobody can give permission for someone else. Even if carrying the other person's card

Help with dis-assembly and assembly of new picture book shelves in the next couple of weeks. Materials should be here this week. Own tools preferred.
