The Great Julian Curtiss Spirit!!
Oh my goodness! We are so grateful to be part of this wonderful community!
The JC Community came together again. Staff, parents, family members, and students were all out in force to participate in the Turkey Trot on Saturday morning. We are sorry if you did not make it into the picture but we know you were there!!
We reclaimed our winning spot as the school with the highest percentage of participation! It is wonderful to be the recipients of the $500 toward PE equipment but it is also rewarding to know that we are supporting the Greenwich Alliance.
Runners - wear your Turkey Trot t-shirts on Monday to show everyone your JC spirit!
Why Support the Alliance?
The Greenwich Alliance for Education was launched in 2006 as the local education foundation supporting students in the Greenwich Public Schools. Since our founding we have dedicated $3.0 million to funding innovation, expanding opportunities, and inspiring educators. While progress has been made, our schools are still challenged by a diverse population, a persistent opportunity gap, and constraints on the ability to respond to a rapidly changing world. We believe it is our shared community responsibility to leverage resources and build partnerships to guarantee all students achieve academic success and a promising future.
Just a few programs that impact our families directly:
1. Tuning into Music - free instrumental lessons for those in need
2. Social-Emotional Learning programs across the district.
3. Scholarships for students at our Flex Eagle's Nest after school program.
4. Odyssey of the Mind
5. Parent Engagement planning and support
6. Boys and Girls Club
7. Horizon's Summer Program for boys
8. Greenwich Alliance Scholarship Fund
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5TH IS AN EARLY RELEASE DAY FOR CONFERENCES

FAMILIES AS PARTNERS IN LEARNING
WE WANT TO HELP, BUT YOU KNOW YOUR CHILD BEST
When it comes to knowing how your child is progressing in school, you have several puzzle pieces to put together. You know what makes him/her light up and what causes him/her frustration. Report cards reflect your child’s effort and progress toward learning goals but there are other tools teachers rely on to determine students’ grade level. All of these pieces are important to understanding your child’s progress and achievement so you can support learning skills at home. Please complete this questionnaire by Sunday, December 1st. The questionnaire is available below in electronic format. Hard copies will also be made available at the parent workshop and are attached as printable files below.
**ONE QUESTIONNAIRE SHOULD BE COMPLETED FOR EACH CHILD IN YOUR FAMILY**
