Events Around the Library

Lately, the library has been busy with activities. We had an origami day, Mockingjay release party, new books come to our shelves, and the first ever staff Sip and Doodle!

Big Changes!

Tech Bars

The old magazine racks are out, and our new tech bar is in! Although we're awaiting the electricians, we have two tech bars almost ready to go. The students will have a better place to charge their devices than in your classroom.

Dry Erase Boards and Cork Boards

The middle doors of the library have been replaced! On the inside of the library, they are now dry erase boards that can be used for work and collaboration. On the outside, they are cork boards. You can put any announcements you have on them!

Library Cafe

Thank you so much for helping us get our hot chocolate, coffee, and tea bar off the ground! It's continuing to be a huge success!

Great Online Reading Resources!

What Should I Read Next?

A great resource for readers who loved a book and don't know what else should be in their reading queue is www.whatshouldireadnext.com. All you do is type in a title you enjoy or an author whose books you like and the site will give you recommendations. It's kept pretty current and has books that are either on our shelves or in our digital library!

Professional Collection

Mesquite ISD has a fantastic online collection for you. It can be found through the online resources page at http://www.mesquiteisd.org/academics/library-services/online-resources/. It is available 24/7, so be ready to check that out over the break (if you're so inclined)!

Digital Library

If you're more comfortable with a tablet or computer, the digital library may be more suitable for you. Mesquite ISD has one of the largest school digital libraries in the nation, so there's always something great to read. You can download the Overdrive app, or just read in your browser. It can be found at http://digitallibrary.mesquiteisd.org or through the district online resource page. It's that easy!
