Community Groups
In working together, we can instill positive character traits in our student-citizens...traits such as being respectful, caring, fair, responsible, and honest. These life-long skills and universal assets can help all students to be successful learners and valued members in our community. In order to support this we’ll be using "Building Character with Kelso" program this winter in school. Utilizing the familiar frog named Kelso and his young friend Lil ~ students in kindergarten through Grade 2 will engage in discussions, puppetry, games, and activities that will help them to understand the importance of these five universal character traits, and how to incorporate these prosocial behaviors into their everyday lives. Older students in Grades 3 through 5 will further develop and refine the same five character traits through developmentally appropriate activities including community service, leadership projects and interactive role-play and discussion activities. Colorful "Kelso Star" and "K.C. Star" posters illustrating the five character traits will be posted throughout the school so that our students will be reminded to make appropriate decisions at school, home and in our community. By working together, we can develop healthy life skills for our young people to use throughout their lives!
Kid Questions Sue Boldman
Second graders Leif Pearson and Liam Aquiso interviewed our cook Sue Boldman.
Miss Sue has been the cook at Bruneau Elementary for the past five years. She likes to watch the kids at Bruneau enjoy her cooking most. Her favorite food is tacos and her favorite color is blue. For fun, Sue likes to go shopping.Sue will be retiring at the end of October. We will miss having her as a part of our BES family and wish her the best in her new adventures.
Thank You For Cooking For Us! Ily Gennette
Why We Love You Miss Sue Hays Black
I hear you smell like cotton candy. And I like that smell too. I like that you used to make donuts at breakfast. I like that you make little smokies with potatoes and green beans at lunch. I like that you make chicken nuggets with green beans and mashed potatoes.
