Notes from the Office...

Semester Grades

  • Student semester grades will be emailed to students and parents on Monday, February 1. Students should continue to work to improve semester grades at least through 3rd quarter.
  • If you don't receive one or have questions, please call 515.242.8445.
  • Please see below for academic support outside of the school day.

Academic Success Lab

  • Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Harding is offering support for students to improve their grades from 3:30-5:15.
  • Students can join class in 2 different ways - coming to the library during in person cohort days OR join virtually using this link.
  • Over the next few weeks, please watch for updates from Harding staff with information specific to Harding MS.

Learning Model Change

  • As many of you have probably heard, we will be transitioning to having 5 days a week in person learning for all students that have not chosen 100% virtual learning.
  • Please see this link to view the message from the district.
  • DMPS will be sending out more communication tomorrow.

ELPA Testing

  • ELL students will begin taking the ELPA test this week. This testing will take place during ELL classes.
  • Please help to explain the importance of this test to your students.
  • Students are encouraged to get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast especially on testing days.

Mask Reminder

Please remind your child(ren) that masks are a requirement all day, every day at Harding MS. Masks must be worn correctly (covering mouth AND nose) at all times except while eating lunch and breakfast. There are no mask breaks. This is imperative to the safety all staff and students. If students are struggling to meet the expectation, they will be reminded and parents will be contacted. If they continue to struggle, it may eventually result in students being sent home.
