Congratulate a Player! Hamady 42 - Genesee 6
The Flint Hamady football team, defeated host Genesee 42-6 in football Friday action, thanks in large part to a 22-point third quarter.
Amarr Blake paced Hamady's offense with 215 yards and two touchdowns on 14 of 20 passing, while Simeon Kemp made five receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown. Tim Moore led Hamady with 73 yards on five carries, while Jawan Griffif added a 25-yard touchdown run.
"I thought that last week was a real learning tool for our kids," Hamady coach Gary Lee said. "We came in not ready to perform last week, and on Friday, we played hard for a full four quarters our kids made sure it didn't happen again.
"Our offense was clicking, but I also thought it was our best defensive game so far this season. We were consistent in applying pressure -- in particular with our defensive end Turque Seahorn and outide linebackers Jerry Nard and Kyrie Watson -- and we were aggressive in turning up the heat."
Hamady (3-0) will host Mayville on Sept. 19.
"We've had a chance to see Mayville on tape, and we know that they have tough kids that play hard and grind it out," Lee said. "They don't give you a choice -- they come right at you and make you play -- and we're looking forward to playing a good, physical football game next week."
