ISS Reminders
Teachers, it's imperative that we provide enough work for ISS. As the close of the school year quickly approaches, we know that students are missing key points of instruction if they receive ISS and OSS, but that does not mean you only provide 10 minutes of work for your class. We have a responsibility to provide more than enough work for students to complete while in ISS. You can provide extra practice, enrichment opportunities, remediation opportunities, etc. But the student must have enough classwork for your particular class for an entire block of class. We have always stuck with the policy that students will be placed in ISS for the following day until 1pm. Even if you have planning before that time, you are responsible for checking your email at the end of the school day to see if you need to send assignments. If you need any help with this expectation, please let your administrator know immediately. Students will continue to receive ISS, as the pattern goes in the final 9 weeks, at a rampant pace. Please be responsible and provide the needed work for their learning in the alternative environment.
