What is Multiple Sclerosis?
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, typically progressive disease involving damage to the sheaths of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
Risk Factors
Multiple Sclerosis most commonly occurs in females that are white and between the ages of 15-60. MS is reported being more prevalent in temperate climates.
Main Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis
- Visions Problems
- Tingling/Numbness
- Spasms
- Fatigue/Weakness
- Balance Problems/Dizziness
- Bladder/Bowel Problems
- Cognitive Problems
- Depression
Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis
When diagnosing a patient that may have Multiple Sclerosis a doctor will perform a series of tests including a neurological exam, an eye exam, and a spinal tap.
