Tchaikovsky loved his mother, but she turnd out to be a very cold and distant person. In 1843, Alexandra hired Fanny Durback who was to be a major influence in Tchaikovsky's life. Tchaikovsky had very traumatic moments in his life, like the leaving and death of his mother, and with his softhearted nature, it was very hard for him to overcome these.
Tchaikovsky's Home
This map of Russia in 1874 shows a good representation of where Tchaikovsky was born and raised. Tchaikovsky was born in Votkinsk, Germany and spent pretty much all of his life there. All of Tchaikovsky's family came from Russia. His mom was from St. Petersburg, a very well known and prosperous city in Russia, and his father came from Votkinsk, which was where Pyotr was born as well. Tchaikovsky was so patriotic and loved his country so much, that at a young age he had an atlas and started kissing Russia while spitting on the other countries.

Tchaikovsky's Legacy
Tchaikovsky was one of the greatest composers in history. Although he struggled to overcome many traumatic events because of his softhearted personality, he was still able to create some of the most significant and recognizable music of all time. Tchaikovsky also revolutionized ballet with his extremely popular songs like swan lake and the nutcracker suite, which are still played and performed today. Overall, Tchaikovsky has shaped and reformed music as it is and is an inspiration to many because of his outstanding music and his genius of incorporating completely non related music things (like a cannon) into his music.
