UPCOMING CLINICS
We are very fortunate to have Mr. Ausdemore and Dr. Zator with us this week!
Mr. Ausdemore will be with us on Monday, October 22 working with us on our drumline show. This is our first drumline practice after the marching contest season has finished as we begin to refine and modify the show for the Lone Star Drumline Contest.
Dr. Zator will be providing us a region etude clinic on October 23 during our 4B Class. This will be a 2 hour clinic beginning at 2:45p. Class will let out late at 4:45p so please make certain you have a ride home as you will not be able to make your bus.
Both of these educators are known very well around the world as top in the field, and having them with us is a very special occurrence.
LONE STAR DRUMLINE CONTEST - Marauder Stadium
The Drumline’s final competitive performance is on Nov. 10 at Marauder Stadium located at Marcus High School. We do not have our time yet for this performance, however, this will be an all-day event beginning after our Community Parade Performance that morning. As soon as our performance time is finalized, an itinerary will be sent out to all members and parents.
We will be competing with a modified version of the marching show with some added flair to showcase certain sections and members of the Wakeland Percussion. Certain students will also compete in the solo portion of the contest taking place while other groups are competing at the stadium.
Feel free to reach out at any time via email: teedb@friscoisd.org!
Thank you,

Wakeland Color Guard
Wow - what a spectacular show our cast members created in our time together. Rain this season has posed a variety of challenges, but the guard continued to make light of the situations and power forward with their show in condensed settings (stage, gymnasium, cafeteria). Regardless, the evidence is clear that the color guard fulfilled their role in the show and became an obvious force to reckon with.
Thank you to our students for the long hours, adapting to many choreography changes, being flexible to weather and field conditions, and for pushing the show further than we could have imagined. As I told them yesterday in our final meeting - they outdid last years color guard.
Next, thank you to those of you who volunteered in any capacity this season; whether it be chaperoning, field crew, spirit wear, uniform cleaning, concessions, sewing, fitting and altering, or any other behind-the-scenes work, I hope you know we are incredibly appreciative of your time and for helping the band!
Lastly, my sincerest gratitude to our Guard Mom Alex Chapman. She has gone above and beyond with her role as guard liaison, and has made this season calm for all of us! Alex has dedicated countless hours to our guard program: helping with show hair, chaperoning and coordination, keeping the members excited and hydrated, washing and fixing countless uniforms, attending booster meetings, and being a great energy to us. Thank you!
If any of you know any WHS Students interested in auditioning for winter guard, they are allowed to audition for consideration into the JV production. Spread the word!
When one season ends, another begins! Currently awaiting uniform and show logo designs; concepts and music have been finalized, and consultation and design meetings have been held! In a little over two weeks, we begin staging for the 2019 JV and Varsity programs!

Thank you and have a GREAT week!
