Who we are

We are a community of young adults in our 20s and 30s that attend Friendswood Friends Church. We are all at different stages of life from college to working and single to young families. Our hope is to stay grounded to Christ through this transitional time in our lives by supporting each other and doing life together.

Fall Happenings:

If this is you're first time checking us out, feel welcome to see what we are up to. We would love for you to join us anytime. Summer has been fast, furious and hot!!!!! We have taken some time off from our regular schedule to vacation with friends and family. We had a blast at the beach together. We ate, played and laughed hard. We even had time to catch a few pokes. ;) I was reminded of what a great community God has given us. The Women's study was encouraging and insightful. We missed you guys but it was great to have some girl talk. This fall is going to be full of fun, service and new studies. Looking forward to seeing you everyone on a regular basis again. Everybody check out some summer pics and what we will be up to below.

Studies and More:

Service with a Smile

I am brainstorming some possible ideas for all of us to serve together. In the past we helped out around the church and community. We are advertising to get more of these request but until then, I am trying to find a few more things for us to do.

1: The Church is helping out with getting the Family Promise home set up. Family Promise is an organization that our church partners with to host homeless families as they try to get back on their feet. Family Promise is getting together a Day Center that the families will go to every day. The day center is a home that is in need of some work. All of the churches are coming together to get the house together. They had a work day a few weeks ago and they will have more. I am hoping that we will be able to help at those. Dates TBA.

2: This option would be to help once a month at Oyster Creek (a low income community down near Lake Jackson) with a youth program. Diane Leverton, a member at FFC, has been going once a month for several years to do a bible club or devotional time with kids in that community on Sunday evenings. There really hasn't been anything for youth and they are looking for help starting a program We would go and help out just like at our youth group by supervising, loving on kids, play with kids, having conversations with kids or helping serve the meal. I know some of you volunteer with our youth group but we think it would be easy to make arrangements on one Sunday a month to get coverage. This would be a big undertaking. So, we would need to think wisely about it and maybe investigated it a bit. I was thinking of going on a field trip down there in the next weeks to see what it is like. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
