Classroom News!
In that Kindergarten there was a farm! E-I-E-I-O! Well, maybe not a farm but there are things growing all over our classroom this week. With time, sun and soil, our bean plants will start to grow. We have also planted grass seeds in soil in our science table to grow a classroom meadow. And - we did an experiment in order to see if we could prove that plants pull water up from the soil. We put food coloring in jars of water and then placed white carnations in each jar. The children guessed what might happen - that the carnations would change color and how long it would take. And low and behold, that is what happened!
Ms. Ruina came in dressed at Mrs. Wishy Washy from the book "Mrs. Wishy Washy." We compared and contrasted Ms. Ruina with Mrs. Wishy Washy and then set about sequencing the events of the story.
The class is half way through Diva and the Flea and looks forward to each chapter and the developing plot.
