Thanking our Veterans

Tamanend Middle School celebrated Veterans' Day today by honoring our nations heroes in a special assembly. In attendance were over twenty veterans who then joined us for coffee and treats made by our NJHS students. Veterans shared their stories and we shared our appreciation. Our guest speaker this year was Commanding Officer Mosher, US Navy and proud Tamanend dad.

Revolutionary Life Day

By Paige S., Gr. 7

Eighth Grade Revolutionary Life Day gave 8th graders the chance to learn about the revolutionary war time. For example, they learned what was in weapons, how to make ink, how to write with a quill, and how to dance the Virginia Reel. Good job 8th teachers and students with your costumes for Revolutionary Life Day!

Leadership Boot Camp

CB South Link Leaders joined Tamanend Link Leaders for a Leadership Boot Camp today after our early dismissal. After enjoying pizza together, students shared and learned from each other what positive impactful student leadership looks like in school. These students will serve as leaders during our Link to Unity (L2U) days and other efforts throughout the school year.

Learning Never Ends

It's official... the second marking period has begun! Report cards for the first marking period will available on the Portal at 8 a.m. on November 16th. Take a moment to celebrate your growth and successes. (From our point of view, there are many!) Congratulations on your learning and growth! This is also a good time to think about what area you want to focus on for improvement. For example, if you missed a couple of assignments that brought your grade down, maybe focus on keeping your assignment book up to date and check it regularly so that you are organized and prepared. Just because you take a test, or because it is the end of the marking period, doesn't mean learning ends... learning never ends.

To access your son/daughter’s report card:

Report cards will be available on the Portal next week on November 16th at 8 a.m. Follow these steps to access your student's report card:

Throughout the year, Tamanend staff members look for examples of students showing Respect, Achievement, and Responsibility... R.oA.R. Those students are given "Tiger Tracks" tickets which students can enter into a drawing. Each Friday, Mr. Boyle draws one student's Tiger Track and announces the winner on our Tamanend Today Show. The winner can pick from a number of prizes including great coupons from Subway, Rita's, Randazzo's, Yogurt Tree, and Moe's!

The following students were recent weekly winners!
