Keller's Clips - Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
Thursday, May 9th is Children's Mental Health Awareness Day! In order to help spread awareness, many students from Geist Elementary will be writing positive chalk messages on the sidewalk by the entrances of the school for students to read as they walk in the building on May 9th. In addition to this, families who are interested are welcome to meet in downtown Fishers (on Central Green in front of City Hall) to write chalk messages around the downtown area. This event will take place on May 8th at 4:30pm. Many friends from our school district will be taking part in this. We hope to see you at this exciting event!
Lunch Visitors Welcome through May 17
Due to end-of-year activities we will not be able to host visitors for student lunch the final week of school (May 20-24) unless it is for a child's birthday***. Please plan accordingly.
***We welcome all of our tireless, enthusiastic volunteers to the PTO Volunteer appreciation lunch on Thursday, May 23 in the cafe.

Global Studies Snack Tasting
Dear parents and caregivers,
During the week of May 13th and 20th students will be tasting a dried fruit called a Date. This is a very common fruit/snack in middle eastern countries like Pakistan/India and many locations in Africa too. These locations are some of the ones we have been discussing in Global Studies. Please take a look at the nutrition label below. If you do NOT wish your child to taste the Dates, please fill out the Opt-Out form by following the link below and submit your response by May 10th.

4th Graders to Visit Intermediate Schools
Attention 4th Grade Parents!
Monday, May 13 is a big day for our 4th graders as they visit the intermediate schools! The students will travel on buses with teachers while administrators, counselors and teachers greet them and introduce them to their new school. Please watch for permission slips to come home with your child.
Please click here for a letter from Tim Mankin, HIJH Principal, regarding a Parent Orientation meeting for parents of incoming fifth grade student, also on May 13.
Parents of students attending FCI should watch for information.
Help Us Fight Hunger!
Student Council will be participating in Million Meals Movement on May 11 by packaging meals to help fight hunger in Indiana. Student Council members are trying to raise money to fund this project. Money raised from Disney Day on April 12 supported this project, but we are still in need of additional funding.
We need your help! If you have a business that is willing to sponsor this project, please contact Mrs. Biggs or Mrs. Miller. You can learn more about Million Meals by visiting https://millionmealmovement.org.
Hero Day - Friday, May 10
Artsonia
Thank you to everyone who purchased items from Artsonia this school year! Your purchases raised over $800 that will be used to buy art supplies your students use in the art room. Your support is very much appreciated!
Just a reminder, if you would like to order for Mother's Day, the standard shipping charge cut off is Sunday, May 5. Express shipping will be cut off May 7. Check it out, there are some sale items!
Email Ms. Green if you need assistance accessing your child's account: egreen@hse.k12.in.us
Bongo Boy: May 20th
Bongo Boy is coming back! Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring this awesome event the final week of school! I wanted to let parents know that it can get very loud in the gym for this event because there will be close to 200 people playing drums at once! So feel free to send silencing headphones or ear plugs with your kids to school on May 20th. GES only has a few head phones so your child might want to bring their own pair. This is not required. Most students were fine without them. I can't wait for the day! Mrs. K, Music Teacher
Information for Rental iPad Collection
iPad collection will start on Thursday, May 16th and continue until Thursday, May 23rd according to the following schedule:
KG – Thursday, May 16th
1st Grade – Friday, May 17th
2nd Grade – Monday, May 20th
3rd Grade – Tuesday, May 21st
4th Grade – Wednesday, May 22nd
Any leftover iPads will be collected Thursday, May 23rd. If your child is absent during collection, devices can be returned to the Administration Building, 13485 Cumberland Rd., Monday-Friday between 7:30am and 3:30pm
If this is your student’s first year renting, the charging brick/cord are yours to keep for future devices. The district only supplies bricks/cords to first time renters and does not supply replacements.
Each student will receive a paper confirmation to take home that verifies their rental device has been turned in. If there is damage to the device, the district tech department will document and assess any necessary charges and will notify you at a later date. Detailed information regarding preparing devices to be collected has been sent out via Skylert, but in order to help iPad collection at GES go as smoothly as possible here is a short list of things you can check at home to make sure your child’s iPad is ready to be turned in:
o Passcode is removed
o iCloud (Apple ID), iTunes, & App Store accounts are signed out
o Stickers/tape/nametags are removed
o Headphone jack is clear
