Guest Speaker from Moton Museum
Leah Brown, Associate Director for Education
Leah Brown, Associate Director for Education at the Moton Museum in Farmville visited Randolph-Henry High School on February 23rd during their enrichment block. Mrs. Brown shared with RH a program that addresses Moton High School's history alongside national Supreme Court desegregation in education cases. Students learned that the Earl Warren Supreme Court addressed and answered the question of whether the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson Supreme Court decision infringed upon citizens’ 14th Amendment right to “equal protection under the law” clause. The program used Moton High School’s story as a case study for the Supreme Court’s role in preserving public education and desegregating schools.
