P-TECH at Watervliet Weekly Update
November 20, 2018
Future Ready Stars
The norms and expectations of the P-TECH program are based on the Future Ready Framework. The P-TECH staff is excited to recognize students who exemplified these characteristics in Quarter 1.
Personal Accountability - Teaghan Rockenstire
Technology Leadership - Danyal Akhtar
Empowerment - Colin Foster
Collaboration - Melissa Mayo
Humanitarianism - Stephen Franco
Congratulations to each of you!
Children's Books
Thank you to Watervliet Elementary School students and staff for allowing us to share our books with you! It was a great visit and we are excited to find more ways to incorporate the Watervliet community in our future projects!
Job Opportunities for Teens
During the conversation, students learned about what employers are looking for in both part-time and full-time employees. They also received tips on how to successfully find and keep a part time job while they are still in high school or college. The panel also talked about how entry level positions can sometimes lead to careers with great local companies.
Thank you to our panel for your time and valuable insight!
