Final Exams
All final exams must be taken on your school-issued Chromebook. Please bring your FULLY CHARGED Chromebook and power cord/charger to school on Tuesday, December 13 - Friday, December 16.
Students that are not able to make-up final exams before Friday, December 16, must take their final exam on Wednesday, January 4. This is the day BEFORE all students return to school. Report to the Library between 8:00 - 9:00 AM. The exam period will extend until noon. Contact your teacher for details.
Reporting of Final Exam Grades
Grades for GCPS Milestones Benchmark Assessments, Semester 1 Final Exams, and Midyear Assessments will be finalized in January upon returning from winter break. When scores are available, teachers will enter them, and the grades will be visible in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. As a result, final course grades for the fall semester will be finalized by Tuesday, January 10. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, visit the GCPS Parent Portal website for more information.

Open to all students in Gwinnett County Public Schools, the annual GCPS Student Media Festival celebrates the talents and visions of student digital media producers. The festival is coordinated by the GCPS Broadcast Department/GCPS TV and supported by media specialists, teachers, administrators, industry professionals, local businesses, and community members.
Free & Reduced Price Meals
Parents of students enrolled in the Free and Reduced Meal Program must reapply for the program each school year. Applications for the 2022-2023 school year are now available on the Gwinnett County Public Schools website at https://bit.ly/GCPS-FRMeals. (You may change the language of the application in the upper right corner.) Students who qualify for Free and Reduced Meals often qualify for reduced fees for AP testing, ACT testing, SAT testing, and college applications.
We encourage parents of all eligible students to apply as soon as possible.

Learn about the SAT for All option for current 11th graders
Students in the Class of 2024, or current 11th graders, will need to participate in either the Gateway Writing Assessment in U.S. History or the school day administration of SAT for All to meet this graduation requirement. This survey must be completed by Friday, December 16, 2022 for eligible students.

A Note from Ms. Antwi, College and Career Specialist
I would like to take this time to introduce myself formally. My name is Ms. Evita Antwi, M.S., and I am the new College and Career Specialist (CCS) at Seckinger High. I come from the fabulous state of California with over 20 years of college and career experience, with most of those years in higher education as a Counselor and Professor. I am super excited to be a part of this awesome community of parents, educators, and students here at Seckinger.
Whether you plan to attend college, technical school, a university, or head straight into the job market, all students can benefit from the resources available in the College and Career Center. As the CCS, I will work to assist you in meeting all your college and career needs as you prepare for your future. I aim to provide informative and inspiring guidance for your post-high school plans.
As the College and Career Specialist, I am here to assist in all things college and career, which include but are not limited to: career assessments, college applications, college representative visits, Financial Aid (FAFSA) information, College/Career Fairs, SAT/ACT fee waivers, facilitate one-on-one meetings with college admissions representatives, Military Visits, ASVAB testing and much more.
I look forward to getting to know my new Seckinger family and “Growing Our Community, Building our Brand.”

Atlanta Gladiators Aim High Scholarship (open to applicants districtwide)
A one-time award of $1,000 will be presented to a GCPS graduating senior(s) interested in a career in sports medicine, sports management, event planning, or a related field. Applicants must have plans to enroll in an accredited college or university for fall 2022. Requirements:
- Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
- Submit a one-page essay describing your interest in a career in sports medicine, sports management, event planning, or a related field Application Deadline: January 31, 2023
Upsilon Alpha Omega, the Gwinnett Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc

This scholarship is offered to a graduating senior (male or female) with plans to further their
education at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). There will be an interview process for those selected. Requirements:
- Must already be accepted to an accredited HBCU four-year college or university
- Must possess leadership potential and discernible good character
- Must demonstrate superior scholastic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)

Discovery High School
Come learn about various technical career opportunities through apprenticeships and workforce training. Many of these programs can be completed in two years or less, and they offer free or low-cost tuition.ASVAB
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or ASVAB, is an optional aptitude test offered to our juniors and seniors each year. This test is designed to help you discover special skills and potential abilities you may have. Although the Department of Defense administers this test, you are under no obligation to the military, in any way, to take the ASVAB. Students will be required to sign up to take the test. - Basketball Season Reminders
- Only Seckinger HS students and opposing HS students will be permitted in games without a parent. High School IDs will be checked.
- Students must leave school on game day and can return one hour prior to tip-off. Students will enter through the main gym lobby.

- All elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult at all sporting events.
