Rational Equations + Expressions
Simplifying and solving rational functions
Steps!
2. Factor any polynomials that are factorable.
3. Multiply across the numerator and denominator!
4. Combine like terms and factor further if possible.
5. Finally, cancel out any factors that appear both in the numerator and the denominator.

Simplifying (Addition + Subtraction)
Steps!
2. If you can't think of one, just multiply each denominator by each other and then use that number to multiply with the entire equation!
3. Once your denominators are cancelled out, you can combine like terms and reduce further.
4. Just remember to always distribute the negative (if you're doing subtraction) to all the terms!

Solving (Multiplying + Dividing)
Steps!
2. Factor any polynomials (in the denominators) that are factorable.
3. Find a Least Common Multiple so you can cancel out the denominators.
4. If you can't think of one, just multiply each denominator by each other and then use that number to multiply with the entire equation!
5. The denominators should cancel out.
6. Finally, solve for your variable!
