FROM THE LIBRARY
As we close out the calendar year, I will be sending home some overdue book notices, just to help remind students of the titles of books they might have out, and can hunt for over the break. Most books are found hiding under beds, couch cushions, or even seats in the car. In the event that a book is truly missing for good, please email me (Khay@mpsd.org) to work out a plan for replacement.
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday vacation!

FROM THE PTO
Winterfest is Coming!
Winterfest is quickly approaching. It will be held on January 10th. Winterfest is a night event held at GWS. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Craft tables, games, cake walk, cookie decorating and a raffle are some of activities we have planned. A ticket order form was sent home to order tickets in advance. Tickets will also be available the night of the event.
We need your help to make the evening run as smooth as possible. There are two ways you can help!
1) Pick up a cake pan and bake a cake! Cake pans will be available at GWS on January 2nd. Bring it home, bake and decorate a cake and then bring them in the day of Winterfest. We will use these cakes for the cake walk.
2) Sign up to volunteer. We are looking for parents to sign up for a 30 minute block. This will still give you plenty of time to enjoy the evening with your family. Please click here to sign up.
Happy Holiday and Happy New Year from the PTO! Enjoy a safe, relaxing holiday break.
IN OUR COMMUNITY
EARN MONEY FOR GWS AS YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS!
Put your unwanted items to good use by dropping them in our textiles recycling bin, located in our parking lot near the trash dumpsters. Ninety-five percent of all textiles can be recycled.
The following can be donated as long as they are clean & dry: clothing, shoes, pocketbooks, table linens, bed linens, draperies, throw rugs, and stuffed animals. Please place your items in plastic bags so that they will stay dry.
GWS will earn $100 for every ton of textiles placed in our recycling bin.
