Principal's Message
Dear Cougar Community,
Thank you to all Cougar staff and students for staying engaged during this time. Each week things seem to fall a bit more into a routine as we get accustomed to our new normal. I appreciate the work of our teachers in adopting a new lesson template for the week. With the knowledge that families have different access to technology and the internet our goal is to help students continue to engage with learning. It is our hope that students will continue to read each day, do some math, try a new science experiment or observe nature. Writing or keeping a video journal of this time would be interesting to view in the future to remember this unprecedented time.
Teachers have identified all standards that were not taught this year and will create lessons at the beginning of next year to cover those standards. As always, we will meet students where they are to help them move forward. We are all in this together all the way through.
Please keep the pictures coming! Please send pictures to: ann.gwynn@mpark.net.
I miss seeing everyone everyday!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gwynn

If you would like to request a refund, please contact your child’s principal. This will begin the process of refunding field trip payments. Please understand that refunds, once requested, may take some time to process due to limited processing capabilities during the shutdown.

Food Service Program on Tuesdays at 4:00
The MPCS School Nutrition Program will continue to provide prepackaged grab-and-go meals at no charge to all children ages 18 and under. Participants should enter the Manassas Park High School lower lot.
Sets of five prepackaged breakfasts and lunches will be provided. All meals will be the same regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
Please note that all children must be present in order to receive the meals. The Virginia Department of Education has granted MPCS permission to waive this requirement for the parents of children with physical limitations and/or immunocompromised systems. If you need to pick up meals for your child without their presence, email deanne.perez@mpark.net.
Volunteers will continue to mark cars with the number of meals requested. If at all possible, please leave the number on your windshield to expedite this process at next week’s market. Safe social distancing practices will remain in effect. As the market and meal distributions will be set up as a grab-and-go, attendees should follow volunteer direction to ensure safe vehicle traffic and open vehicle trunks for expedited delivery.
